ASHRAE Design Guide for Tall, Supertall and Megatall Buildings
This webinar focuses on providing our members knowledge on the ASHRAE Design Guide for Tall, Supertall, and Megatall buildings. With over 30 years of experience in the design and operation of Tall, Supertall, and Megatall buildings around the world, Peter Simmonds leads this webinar to teach various topics necessary in designing these buildings. The webinar will focus on topics such as the thermal performance of buildings, building envelope, stack effect, mechanical system selection, ventilation, and thermal comfort. Peter will give an overview of each topic found in the ASHRAE Design guide for Tall, Supertall, and Megatall Building Systems, Second Edition. He shares major points that should be considered when designing these building types, such as the need to obtain clear and concise weather data for the building and calculating the ambient conditions for different heights of the building. Throughout his presentation, we will be shown how heating and cooling load calculations for Tall, Supertall, and Megatall buildings must incorporate outside temperatures at different building heights to provide an accurate energy model. | |
